    Gambaro Hotel

Opto Frameless Sliding door shower screen

Clearly Glass is proud to have been part of the Gambaro Hotel construction. We supplied and installed the shower screens in all 68 rooms. The Opto Frameless Sliding door shower screen is perfect in this setting. It is a sophisticated, modern and sleek design. With the space saving benefits of the Opto Frameless Sliding door shower screen and the added benefits of the minimalist look it is hard to go past.

The glass used is Australian 10mm toughened glass supplied by a local south east Queensland glass manufacturer and is of the highest standard. The fittings are all stainless steel and have been subject to rigorous testing. Frameless shower screens are made to measure and each and every one of the 68 shower screens was individually measured, manufactured and then installed by our professional team. The low maintenance of this system with no tracks, with no frame to collect dirt and mold make the Opto Frameless Sliding Shower Screen system ideally suited to a commercial application like the Gambaro development. It is of course a great choice for the private home especially when space is an issue.

When we were first approached by the project manager making enquiries about supplying the Opto Frameless Sliding Shower Screen to Gambaro we were really excited to be part of the project. We knew the Gambaro Hotel was going to be a beautifully appointed boutique hotel and we were happy to have been asked to be the shower screen supplier. In the end, like all construction jobs, it was a mad rush. Shower screens are usually one of the last components of any construction to be installed and we are often left with very little time as all the earlier trades have used up any leeway the job may have had.

However in the end it all went in on time and on budget. The builders – Rohrig were a pleasure to work with and we are justifiably proud of the result.

  • Sparkling Clean Glass

    Sparkling Clean Glass

Cleaning the bathroom is definitely not a favourite job for most people – especially the frameless glass shower screen.  It can be made much easier with an application of EnduroShield.  This revolutionary product creates a coating on the frameless glass shower screen that makes cleaning a breeze.  Glass that has not been damaged is made very easy to clean.  Many so-called dirty showers are actually scratched and damaged by poor cleaning methods and harsh chemicals.

EnduroShield is best applied to new glass.  All it will ever need is a clean with mild soap and a soft cloth – no toxic sprays, no scrubbing and it will sparkle.

EnduroShield is an Australian developed and manufactured products that prevents build up and adhesion of oils, soap scum and diet – similar to a non-stick fry pan.  It is environmentally safe and able to be applied on site.

Once you have applied EnduroShield it does not need any further maintenance and unlike some products it is not necessary to re-apply annually.

Your shower screen is the most obvious target for this product and it is perfect for frameless shower screens however many people are having EnduroShield applied to frameless glass balustrades, frameless glass pool fences, Opto and hydroslide shower screens – in fact our entire product range.

EnduroShield has been particularly popular and successful on frameless glass pool fences.  Nothing is better than looking through an almost invisible  frameless glass fence to  a beautiful pool sparkling in the sunshine.

  • Safety First & Foremost For Pool Fences

Safety First & Foremost For Pool Fences

At Clearly Glass we believe it is vitally important to be more than safe.

Our pool fences more than comply with the legislation and we take the responsibility of keeping up to date very seriously.  It is an area that has had recent changes to the legal requirements and it is important as the property owner to be familiar with all your obligations.  It is not just as easy as a self closing door and a high enough fence.  There are many aspects to consider.  The potential for toe holds, distance from the pool and any surrounding structures are just a few of the common traps that many fall into.  Nothing is more important than friends, family and neighbours.  Don’t take a chance.   Make sure your pool fence is not just legal but as safe as it can be.

Queensland’s swimming pool safety laws have undergone their most comprehensive review in nearly 20 years.

Thirty- five children under the age of 5 drowned in Queensland’s residential swimming pools between 2004 and May 2010 as well as two drownings in wading pools and one in a home-made pool.

Data from the Commission of Children, Young People and the Child Guardian show that drowning is the leading cause of death in Queensland for children aged one to four, at 5.2 per 100 000, including 4 per 100 000 in pools. In addition it is estimated that 50 children attend emergency departments each year due to immersion injuries, some of whom will suffer permanent brain damage.

It is widely acknowledged that supervision is the first line of protection for children. However, an effective pool barrier provides added protection.  Queensland Injury Surveillance Unit research in 2002 revealed at least 70 people are alive today because of the introduction of pool fencing laws in the early 1990s.

The final legislation component of the Pool Safety was introduced into the Queensland Parliament in Aug 19, 2010 and has yet to be debated.

In summary the Bill includes provisions to:

    • introduce mandatory pool safety inspections triggered by the sale and lease of properties with pools, including the provision of pool safety and compliance information as part of the sale and lease process
    • extend the pool safety laws to include pools associated with hotels, motels, other residential buildings, caretaker residences, caravan parks and indoor pools
    • reduce the maximum depth of portable pools not requiring a compliant pool fence from 450 mm to 300 mm
    • require mandatory reporting to Queensland Health by public and private hospitals and the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) of immersion incidents involving young children
    • remove existing Local Government exemptions, other than exemptions where a person has a disability
    • introduce the ability to seek an exemption where complying with the new pool safety standard proves to be physically impractical.

This standard is not proposed to commence until later in 2010. The department is working with relevant training organisations and other key stakeholders to establish a licensing system and register.

  • Using Glass To Brighten Your Home

Using Glass To Brighten Your Home

The hottest trends for decorating your home are all over the internet. You can even take a look at prime-time television shows who all offer inspirational and creative ways for updating, transforming and beautifying your home. Whether you are contemplating frameless sliding shower screens or hydroslide shower screensframeless pool fences or frameless glass balustrades glass has proven itself to be a modern choice for interior designers.

Glass in modern homes is a prominent aspect which, thanks to home design shows, is growing ever popular. It is a luxury addition to home décor that is also as utilitarian as it is chic and modern. For many home DIY enthusiasts they simply overlook glass when customising their home interiors but by doing so they are missing out on the ideal way to brighten up a home.

    The Reflective Trick

Glass itself is completely reflective and it is a popular designer trick to increase the presence of light in any room. Additional light makes a room feel larger, more open and emphasises other design accents of the room. Installing a frameless sliding shower screen in your bathroom, especially when it faces a window is a great way to enhance the room with added natural light. Ordinarily a bathroom is not a light filled room but by adding a frameless shower screen you are increasing the feel of the size of the room as well as its openness.

    A Designer Tip

If you are deciding to redecorate your home to increase the modern feel and aspect of it glass is hard to go past. Modern home interiors are using glass in unique ways to enhance the natural light, sleek appeal and designer details of the property. Glass balustrades are creative alternatives to out dated handrails. Their use on stairways to replace traditional banisters is a great way to minimise the dampening of light through hardwood railings. Instead glass balustrades reflect light from neighbouring windows and doors to not only increase light on the stairwell but improve safety too. The glass balustrades also capture the feeling of modern appeal with their neutral aesthetic.

Clearly Glass Systems specialise in a range of customisable and modern appeal glass applications. With a creative and helpful team we can assist you in designing the home of your dreams. Our range of frameless shower screensframeless pool fencesframeless glass balustrades and painted glass splashbacks will enhance and enliven the décor of your home.

  • Glass Reflects The Bathroom Trend For 2025

Glass Reflects The Bathroom Trend For 2025

Glass is reflecting the current look in bathroom styling for 2025. Imagine bespoke large mirrors, glass basins, glass splashbacks in coloured glass, frameless shower Screens and statement jars and vases full of fresh flowers.

The current trend is luxury in bathrooms. People want to feel like they’re going into a spa. Some Brisbane homeowners are even taking out partial shower walls, or all shower walls entirely and making the entire bathroom a shower – a high end European approach, that of course requires correct drainage.

The key to the glass look is marrying the timeless natural beauty of decorative elements in stone, timber and woven natural fibers, with the clean contemporary finishes of translucent glass, coloured glass splashbacks, ceramic tiles, polished chrome and vitreous china.

Perfect for the look is the coloured painted glass. You can build a luxurious shower recess wall that has no joints and more importantly nowhere for mould to grow.

Why not clad your bathroom walls from basin top to ceiling to give an easy clean and very dramatic back drop to your powder room.

Glass lends a timeless sense of luxury and indulgence to any bathroom.

Glass is perfect for bathrooms as the glass takes its cue from cut crystal with its many light reflective facets creating a constant play of light and shadow as the water enters the bowl.

Complete the look of a rich and deluxe lifestyle with thick, luxurious Egyptian cotton towels and wash cloths. And add dramatic and romantic mood lighting with an array of scented candle in heady scents like jasmine and camellia.

  • How To Clean Your Glass Shower Door

How To Clean Your Glass Shower Door

Soap scum and chalky streaks getting you down? Glass shower doors add a modern and stylish touch to any bathroom, but residue build-up can quickly cloud your shower’s shine. Keep your glass shower screen crystal clear with these cleaning tips.

    Remove Water After Each Use

Prevention is key. Use a squeegee (or window cleaner) or a microfibre cloth to remove water from your shower screen after every use. This will help prevent hard-water streaks and cloudiness, and allow you to wait longer between cleans. Sure, it may seem like a bit of a hassle, but it’ll save you time scrubbing in the long run.

    Go Natural

Who says you need harsh chemicals to tackle stubborn soap scum? You can get the same great results using inexpensive household ingredients.

Mix 1 cup of warm vinegar and 1 cup of dishwashing liquid soap in a spray bottle and soak your pivot or sliding glass shower doors. Leave for a few minutes then wipe off with a sponge or damp cloth. You shouldn’t have to use much elbow-grease with this tough concoction.

    Consider Your Shower’s Materials

If your shower is made of stone, vinegar may cause damage. Lemon and baking soda make great natural alternatives. Simply cut a lemon in half, dip it in baking soda, wipe on your shower screen, and rinse with warm water.

For those more stubborn stains, mix baking soda with dishwashing liquid until it forms a paste, then scrub your glass shower door with a non-scratch scrub sponge.

    Repel Water

Once your shower is sparkling, rub some lemon oil onto your shower screen. Apply a few drops (a little goes a long way!) to a lint-free cloth and rub on the inside of your glass shower doors, from top to bottom. This will help repel water and prevent build-up.

There’s only so much a good clean can do for an old and stained glass shower door. If your shower screen is getting beyond a clean, it might be time for a shower screen replacement. Get in touch with Clearly Glass and discover our range of quality glass shower screens today.

  • Keeping Your Glass Pool Fence Clean Against The Elements

Keeping Your Glass Pool Fence Clean Against The Elements

Nothing makes your backyard look more immaculate than a perfectly clear glass pool fence – but how do you keep it clean? Outside, your glass fence is exposed to many elements that want to leave their mark, and it can be tough to keep the glass spotless.

Follow our tips to make light work of your glass pool fence cleaning, and keep your fence looking as sharp as glass.

    Prevention

The first thing to consider is how you can keep the elements away in the first place. Here are a couple ways you can increase your fence defence:

Out of reach: Keeping your gardens away from your glass fence will reduce the amount of soil and dirt blown onto it. If you’ve already got a beautiful garden by your pool, make sure there are plants that cover the soil or bark that spreads out over it.

Enduroshield: This protective glass coating product is designed to increase your glass’ defence to the elements. With its oily base, water beads up and runs straight off, keeping dirt and watermarks at bay.

    Regular Cleaning

Before the age of dishwashers, we got our glass bowls sparkling clean with warm water and regular detergent. You can’t stick your fence in a dishwasher, but that warm water and detergent provides the same simple and effective solution to cleaning your glass pool fence. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

    • Wipe off any excessive dirt
    • Spot-clean any bird poo or excessively built-up areas of dirt and grime
    • Use a sponge or gentle cloth to apply the warm water and detergent solution
    • Wash off with clean water (you can use a hose)
    • Let it air-dry or use a squeegee for a higher-quality finish, eliminating residue or drying marks.

You can use this cleaning method on the stainless steel bases and hinges of your fence, too.

    Lazy-Day Cleaning

If you want a quicker clean for those lazy days, encourage the kids to splash away. Have a water-fight in the backyard and put the kids’ energy to good use. This won’t give you a sparkling finish, but it will help wash off any dirt and built-up grime. Just be sure to hose down the glass with clean water afterwards, to keep the pool water from leaving a mark.

If you’d like a more modern and elegantly styled fence around your pool, Clearly Glass have glass pool fences on offer that are built to fit in seamlessly and complement your whole backyard. Contact our friendly team today and discover the possibilities.
